preservation, business and charitable
planning.
Mr. Weidenfeld is
frequently quoted in the media and was
named by Washingtonian magazine as one
of the
75 best lawyers in Washington in 2002
and one of the area's
top financial planners, wealth managers,
accountants and estate planners in 2009.
He is the co-author of
Generations:
Planning Your Legacy and
Giving:
Philanthropy for Everyone.
He served as counsel to the United
States House of Representatives’
Committee on Interior in Insular Affairs
from 1971 until 1973. He served as
counsel to the 1980 Reagan-Bush
Campaign. Three United States Presidents
have appointed Mr. Weidenfeld to
advisory positions.
Mr.
Weidenfeld has also been an official
observer in elections in the
Philippines, Korea, Pakistan, Chile and
Albania. He received the medal of Peter
the Great from the Russian Federation in
recognition of his efforts assisting
with transfer of technology.
He
is Co-Chair of the Board of Visitors of
the National Defense University and a
member of the Board of Trustees of the
Center for the Study of the Presidency
and Congress. He is also a member of the
Board of Directors of the Danny Kaye and
Sylvia Fine Kaye Foundation, and a Life
Member of the American Law Institute and
a member of the American Bar
Association.
Mr. Weidenfeld is a
graduate of the University of Wisconsin
and Columbia University School of Law.
He is admitted to practice in Maryland,
the District of Columbia, and New York.

Stephanie
Dourado
Stephanie Dourado joined The Weidenfeld
Law Firm, P.C. as an associate in 2012.
Her practice focuses on estate and
business planning.
In the area
of estate planning, Ms. Dourado counsels
individuals and families with an
emphasis on minimizing estate, gift and
generation skipping transfer taxes. Ms.
Dourado prepares wills and a variety of
trusts including revocable living
trusts, life insurance trusts and
special needs trusts. She also provides
advice to clients on their business
planning needs, including the creation
and maintenance of nonprofit
organizations.
Prior to joining
The Weidenfeld Law Firm, Ms. Dourado
worked for four years as an associate in
the litigation department of Baker Botts
LLP, then opened her own estate planning
practice in Alexandria, Virginia.
Ms. Dourado received her B.A. in
political science from Furman University
in 2001. She received her J.D. from the
University of Virginia School of Law in
2004. While in law school, she served as
Business Editor of the Journal of Social
Policy and the Law and Director of the
Domestic Violence Pro Bono Project.
